A rainy day on our vacation at Isle of Palms, South Carolina led me to check out this interesting shop in nearby Mt. Pleasant. When a shop says Eclectic Finds and you are a home decor junkie, it is pretty hard not to want to check this place out. Outside of this shop was a variety of interesting yard decor including beautiful blue and green handmade pottery, statues, iron work and more. You couldn’t help but notice these gems as your drove by.
When you see an assortment of things like this outside of the store, you know you are going to find a bunch of goodies inside Eclectic Finds is an antique and interiors store that features a large number of vendors. Inside you will find a combination of antique and used items as well as handmade and repurposed items. My initial reaction when I entered inside was “Oh-my-gosh. Why can’t we have a store like this at home?”.
You can find items in this store to fit a variety of styles from retro, to vintage, to farmhouse to coastal. If you look in the lower right corner of the picture above, you can see that someone turned a metal tray into a chalkboard. What a neat idea. You’ll find old windows, shutters, galvanized buckets, pillows, artwork, furniture, and loads and loads of handmade and repurposed items.
Need a tray? They got ’em. Different sizes, coastal colors.
They had a few mantels. This was just one of a few.
What little boy or car enthusiast wouldn’t love to add this car to their collection. This car was about a foot and a half high. What I was most fascinated with was the variety of unique and one-of-a-kind light fixtures. What I am showing you is just a small handful of the many lighting fixtures that were available.
This light fixture above was made from three inverted wire baskets attached to a wood plank. If you were in the market for a rustic light fixture for your farmhouse decor, how could you pass this by? Behind it is a chandelier made from oyster shells for those of you who love coastal decor.
Perfect rustic elegance!
Really cool chandelier made from drift wood. If only I had a place for this!
There were many lamps, different styles, different colors. I thought this lamp above was so charming made from a teapot, teaclups and saucers.
The only disappointing thing about my visit to Eclectic Finds is that we drove to Isle of Palms and I didn’t have room to buy anything that would take up much room in the car. I did not leave, however, without making a few purchases. I bought this coastal colored drift wood garland for my coastal inspired fire place mantel for summer. These two wood wooden fish are making their way home with me too. I’m not sure where they are going to go, but they were too cute to pass up.
New items arrive all the time. I don’t think you could ever get bored in this store. If you ever visit the Charleston/Isle of Palms/Mt. Pleasant area and are looking for unique or one-of-kind home or garden decor, stopping at Eclectic Finds is a must. You can find them at 1670 N Hwy 17 in Mt. Pleasant. You will not be disappointed!
