Springtime Simplicity- Decorating Your Kitchen for Spring

When it comes to decorating your home for spring, take advantage of decorating your kitchen. In this article, I will be sharing some simple inspirations for decorating your kitchen for spring.

If your kitchen is anything like mine, it is the “hub” of the home and a place where we spend a lot of time. I want to be reminded of all the pretty things spring has to offer when spending time in the kitchen. This centerpiece on my table was done with all items that I already had. Placed on a tray, it makes a great spring vignette. The placemats are new. Aren’t they cute? I purchased them at At Home.

The three tiered tray on the kitchen island is also new this spring. I have been wanting a tiered tray for a while and recently picked this one up at HomeGoods. Tiered trays come in a lot of different styles and there is bound to be one that fits your décor. They are great for decorating because you can change them out each season.  This tiered tray is decorated with items that I had already had using a bird nest and some garden type accessories that remind me of spring. I can’t wait to use this tray for other seasonal decorating.

It is hard to get a nice picture of my windowsill because the faucet is in the way and because of the glare from the window, but here you can see the apothecary jars that I used to nest in some eggs. These apothecary jars are used ALOT.  I also use a lot of bird nests in my décor. The simplicity and organic nature of bird nests just appeals to me. It would not be uncommon to find a bird nest used somewhere is most rooms of my home.

On the counter top I have some narcissus, a spring plate that I got at Pottery Barn a few years ago and, again, another apothecary jar with eggs. Burlap ribbon was used to hang the tulip wreath on the cabinet door.

My center piece on my kitchen table may change throughout the spring season. Nothing smells more like spring to me than hyacinths. So when I have some in bloom in my yard or happen to find them at the grocery store, I must have them in my kitchen. A wire farmhouse style basked is perfect for using as a centerpiece for your spring décor.

My rhododendrons are in full bloom this week, so I put a few blossoms in some pretty vases. Below is a view from my kitchen into my family room. Use what is in bloom in your yard and be creative with the what you put the blooms in. Vases, mason jars, tea pots all work great.

Can you spot the rabbit tea towel? You can find spring kitchen towels just about anywhere. Use them in your kitchen spring décor for another simple added springtime touch.

I hope these  simple ideas have given you some inspiration for decorating your kitchen for spring!
